How Do Braces Work to Straighten Your Teeth?

You may be wondering how braces work to straighten your teeth. There are many different types of braces, including elastic ties, brackets, and A-chains. To understand how they work, read the following article. Hopefully, it will help answer your questions. Then, you’ll be well on your way to straight teeth. But, before you make your final decision, be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Elastic ties

The elastic ties used in braces to straighten teeth are similar to those found in office braces in Pflugerville. While they look the same, they are different. In fact, there are many ways to make DIY braces, and some of them can be made using common household items. One way to make these elastic ties is to tie them around your teeth, just like you would a regular rubber band. To apply the elastic ties, hold one end of the band in between your pointer and thumb and hook it onto the brackets on the top and bottom of your teeth.

Brackets

There are several basic ways that braces work to straighten teeth. Each bracket is bonded to one tooth. The archwire, which is made of different materials, is fitted into slots on the brackets to move teeth into the proper positions. When the archwire is in place, the pressure it exerts on the teeth causes them to move towards the ideal positions. During the treatment, the orthodontist may use rubber bands to reinforce the wire job.

A-chains

When you’re looking for a way to straighten your teeth, you’ve probably heard of braces. Braces work by applying pressure to your teeth, which can prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and jaw problems. A wire that runs through the brackets is adjusted periodically to move your teeth. Another method for straightening your teeth is the use of power chains, which are elastic chains connected together to add additional force to the braces.

Brackets with metal

Metal and ceramic braces work to straighten teeth. Metal brackets are attached to the teeth using dental bonding materials. Brackets are made to fit tightly onto teeth, and a thin metal wire is placed between them to put pressure on the tooth’s archwire. Once the brackets are securely attached, they will gradually move the teeth to their correct positions. Clear braces, on the other hand, do not show.

Braces with ceramic brackets

If you want a less visible option for your braces, consider ceramic brackets. Ceramic brackets are attached to your teeth by elastic bands. The archwire is threaded through these elastic bands and keeps your teeth in the proper position. Braces with ceramic brackets are also more expensive and take a little longer to straighten your teeth. If you are considering braces, you should consider the pros and cons of both metal and ceramic brackets.

Braces with lingual brackets

Lingual braces work to straighten your teeth in two different ways. First, they exert pressure on the periodontal membrane, which causes your teeth to move. Next, new bone grows around your teeth to support their new position. Ultimately, this process is called bone remodelling. It will take a few weeks to see your desired results, but it is well worth it in the end.
